I have access to some of these in 375, 300 grain. Give me an opinion on these. I've heard good things about them in the past, but can't remember if it involved the 375. Thanks, David

I've only tried them in my .338, and they wouldn't shoot tight groups. I will stick with the Swift A-Frames that have served me so well for 15 years. George

It seems like they've always performed well on game but I couldn't get them to group well enough to fool with. A friend of mine had a .330 Dakota that shot them into little tiny groups, including a 1.5" group at 300 yards I watched him shoot one afternoon. That gun REALLY liked them but only when it was pretty dirty. Kyler

I've used them on over two dozen African plains game critters with good results. Let me give you this head-to-head non-scientifc match up with Nosler Partitions. Friend and I went to Namibia each armed with .375's and decided to each use the same factory ammo; Federal Premium using Nosler Partions 300 grain. We shot about 20 critters between us ranging from duiker to eland with mostly gemsboks, kudu, zebras, and wildebeest in between. Two years later returned to Namibia with another pal and each of us were armed with .375's. This time we used 300 grain Winchester Fail Safe ammo as our mutual ammo. Shot over 20 critters and had several more 'drop-in-their-tracks' kills with the Fail Safes and marksmanship wasn't significantly better. I've been a fan of Nosler Partitions for over 30 years and shot well over 50 big game critters with them from western whitetails to grizzly. My observation is the Fail Safe is an improvement over the Nosler Partition with the biggest difference being the FS front end doesn't disappear while the back sections are similar and give penetration. To be fair the only other bullets I've used in the meantime have been Barnes X (mixed reviews, not the wonder-bullet I was led to believe) and Federal Deep Shok (good!). Your mileage may vary.

I've shot two buffalo with them and a bunch of plainsgame. The Failsafe and the Swift A-Frame have been the most effective bullets I've used in my .375's. If you can get them to shoot in your rifle they should prove excellent for anything you can shoot a premium soft at! On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. bwanamrm,I wouldn't put a failsafe in the same category as any soft.Although I have never tested a solid, I would guess it would perform like one.It is half HARD copper, part HARD lead with a STEEL insert! Once tried some factory rds in an old 270 and they were very accurate out to 200yds.

I found them quite accurate in my 375 H&H in the 270gr, but they performed poorly on game. They either penetrated like a solid without expanding or if they did open the peddles broke off.
