I recently bought a CZ550 safari Magnum in 416 rigby, can anyone tell me the torque specs( if any ) for the front lug screw ? It arrived quite loose.
Thanks in advance

I like 45 inch LBS for a wood stock.
Evenly torqued front and rear.
A dab of synthetic grease on the screw threads and the bottoms of the screw counter bores.
Don't overdo it with the grease, just a dab with a Q-tip is enough.

Just asking, why no Loctite? Weakest one, don't know the color.

If I have a screw that loosens itself, I'll use clear finger nail polish.

So just to be clear, there are two lug screws and a rear action screw. the one out front on the forearm is the one I am wondering about.

.

Eny, Great choice! Purchased the same rifle and same caliber a few years back. Made the following moderations -

1. closed the magazine plate (seen too many plates open and cartridges fall out over the years)

2. moved the front sling band to the barrel

3. opened up the bolt handle so it is easier to grasp

4. sun polished the bolt

and went hunting buff with it !

Great rifle, great caliber and a lot of fun to shoot!

Enjoy.

The CZ 550 is notorious for splitting the stock at the tang. Get it properly bedded before you do anything else.

Yes I'm all about that, just not sure how to deal with secondary recoil lug up behind sling swivel.
I do all my own bedding, stock making. Just have not dealt with this before.
