I have a Whitworth 375H&H that I would like to have rebarreled to the new 400H&H.Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith to perform this work??
Also have a Ruger m77 in 416Rigby that was the only rifle I took last year to South Africa.I used the 416 on 7 animals from buffalo to impala and it worked beautifully, however, after reading about the 400H&H, it may just be the perfect one gun rifle for Africa.Planning another trip to Africa in 2005 and would like to see what the 400H&H is capable of.Thank you. J.F.S.

While I agree it is fun to try new calibers I think you will be spending a bunch of money to recreate exactly what you have now.
A 400 gr bullet at 2400 fps does not know what case it came out of.

John Ricks can do that...He posts on this board from time to time...Also Dennis Olson in Plains, Mt. could probably do it..
