A good friend of mine in South Africa has .450 Rigby. I've hunted with him and his rifle on two occasions. In a word Fantastic. Just a very nicely balanced .458.

It fires a 500gr bullet at somewhere around 2300FPS and does so at less pressure than a .458Lott. I like the .450 Rigby very much.

While the 450 rigby is a great round, it's not a HUGE gain over the 416 rigby... 400 gr at (lets face it) 2500 (5500ft/lbs or 500 at 2300..(5800) in a .458 bullet....

but, the 470 mbogo... 500 gr at 2500 (6500) in a .475 bullet...

after seeing this one in the field, I have to tell you it's amazing
