I have some 600 gr cast bullets, and what I thought were 700 gr, but after looking at NEI's website, they might be 775 gr. I have no idea what charges to use on the real heavy slug. If anyone's played with these, lemme know how they've worked for you.

Paul,

Do you have Cartridges of The World? There is loading data for the 707 grain solids as used by A-Square years ago for the .500 A-Sq. If you were to reduce these by 5% I think you'ed be good to go with those 775 grain cast bullets.

Roger,

No, I don't have a copy of COTW, there are so many errors in the various editions I've read that I can't see spending my $ on a copy. I do believe there are a few copies at the library though, so I'll have to check it out, thanks for the tip!

Paul,

I got the latest edition. I'll let you borrow it if you want. I'm heading down to Reno tonight for SCI, so if you need it give me a call after 6 Feb.

Eric,

No rush, I'm still waiting on the barreled action and dies to arrive.

Worse yet is I started looking for my old beater stock, but can't find it. I think the kids were playing with it.

I figure with needing to fab up and add the second recoil lug then bed the action, it'll be likely a month before I shoot it.

On the up side, I realized I have two bullet molds for making a 350 gr and 470 gr bullet, and also have 535, 600 and 775 gr cast bullets to try, and I ordered a couple boxes of 570 gr XLC's this morning. Should keep me busy for awhile, and I plan on having loads ranging from 500 Linebaugh handgun loads, on up to, you shoot it, no no no, you shoot it loads [Big Grin]

Paul- I shoot 750 gr .50BMG AP's out of my 500 A2 with about 55 grs of XMP5744. This is actually a pretty light load and should work fine in a .500 Jeff.-Rob

Thanks 45nut

Paul,
I can send you a beater (that is CRAP) stock, but I THINK henry will make you one, with matchstick grainn, for like $100 or less... sub utility grade... I nearly wish I had done that with mine, to get all the "stuff" worked out, and then use that for my inlet guide...
