You could get into a Winchester custom shop rifle, but maybe not for under $3000. Look at the possibility of a used Dakota. You might again be over 3K, but it is one great rifle. I am a lefty, and that's what I shoot. Check out www.gunsamerica.com.

Well im not much into big bore rifles but the dream of hunting Africa is getting stronger every day and thus im thinking about my options as a lefty for big game bolt guns!
Something under 3000$ or so w/o scope!

What do you suggest for the "standard" African safari ie, rifle, caliber, scope etc?

you could also get the AR special......blaser R93 safarie 416 rem mag in a left handed bolt...........lol

ill stick to double rifles.

M70 Classic, Safari Express in 375 H&H (about $1,000). There's not a whole lot of other options.

I'm a lefty and own all left handed guns. I own a Heym SR20 classic 375H&H and like the gun a lot. They are around the boards for sale regularly, if you keep an eye open. I just looked and there's a lefty 7mm and a 300 WM for sale.
The entire Weatherby line can be gotten left handed. A Ruger #1 restocked lefty looks and works great. I think there are a lot of posibilities if you plan your trip and hunt for your rifle.

Remington offers the 700 in lefthand, in the 'Safari' and 'Custom KS' models. Listed price is approx. $1500.

Winchester makes the lefthand Model 70 in .375H&H from time to time; this is my choice when I hunt dangerous game. List prices is approx. $1000.

I am working with Jim Brockman to establish a line of rifles built on the Montan Rifleman M99 action: the action comes in LH and RH. The RH prototype rifle is built, and the LH action has arrived at the shop.

These two prototypes are chambered for .458 Lott with Lothar Walther barrels, and the price target is under $1,995. I named them the "JimSquare" rifles, since I did the high-level design, and Jim Brockman is doing the detailed design and rifle building.

Stocks are laminated wood, and the rifles come with Jim B's Gen III iron sights, and his sling swivels.

I am doing some testing with the RH rifle now. I expect to make a big noise about the LH rifle after the SCI Convention.
