I am not aware of the availability of .416 Taylor dies. Who makes them for a decent price and where to purchase them at that decent price. I did find the elcheapo .416 Taylor 98 Mauser barrels in Midway. Does commercial house load ammo for the .416 Taylor?

I bought RCBS 416 Taylor dies from Midway, for about $50 US if I remember correctly. This was about 4 years ago. Cheers, Canuck

Funny you did not just look for dies on Midway too. I did a quick search and Midway carries RCBS (the price has gone WAY up to $129 for the two die set), Hornady 2 die set ($57.99) and a set of Lee dies for about $25 bucks. Look here. Cheers, Canuck

Thanks Canuck, For some reason I never thought the dies would be available from Lee. I knew I would not pay RCBS's prices and I do not care for Hornady dies at that price either. I was expecting that a cheaper route might be to cut off a set of .416 Remington dies and build a shorty .416 Remington X 2.5.

I'll second the Lee dies. They are a catalog item at Midwayusa.

A friend bought the Lee's, I bought the Hornady's both from Midway. The Lee sizing die seem easier to neck up 7mm, 300 and 338's to 416. The Hornady will work, just takes a little more effort. The seating die leaves something to be desired on the Lee, hands down the Hornady is the winner.
