Hey guys, just curious about some of the metric cartridges out there, how about somebody that has owned/owns, has shot/taken game with a 10.75x68 (Is that right, working off memory from a couple weeks ago when i perused it in my cartridges of the world). Any other big bore metrics that do good work but are overshadowed by the "American" nomenclature cartridges? Thanks. Red

I bought these 10.75s recently, haven't killed anything with them but I have shot one on paper. 347gn .423" Woodleighs @ 2350fps is alot of power, not too shy of the 404 Jeff. Got a bad rap in the early days because of poorly designed bullets. One of the nice things about this overlooked round is it can be used with a standard length action. I bought these in Sweden, the folks in Northern Europe like to use them on moose. Ray Atkinson & Harald Wolf (Hatari Times) like the 10.75 too. Next to the 375 H&H:

Another great metric cartridge is the 9,3X70 Magnum made by DWM (Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken) in Berlin. Like Saeeds .404/375 it is based on the .404 Jeffery case. This great caliber was one of Hermann Grings favorite calibers for Deer. Raimer Johansen offer this caliber in his selection, Ferlach gunsmiths aswell. Cheers, Andr

I had a Mauser 98 in 10.75x68 many years back. It was a great "mild" big bore that matched the old 404J ballistics when loaded up. I'd build another in a heart beat IF quality cases were readily available. Does anyone know whether RWS will ever make a run again? Cheers... Con

I think Hoffmans are the prettiest of the fine prewar custom sporters. They certainly bring a pretty penny. Wish I knew more about the history and the people, they moved several times, Cleveland, Ardmore, Amarillo. Your friend is lucky.
