Just got a new 26" 375 JDJ barrel for my encore. It will be used for white tail deer hunting. What is the best bullet for tis purpose?

260gr Accubond. Deer to the big bears...covers it all. I used this in my 378GNR Encore handgun with a 13" barrel on african game from warthog and Blesbok to Kudu and in my 375 H&H rifle on a Zebra...all DRT. A great all around bullet.

Nothing intrinsically wrong with the Accubond, but for a LOT less money (whitetail deer are not Greater Kudu or Zebra) the Hornady 220 has performed great for me in my .375WCF rifle. A bit slower than the JDJ but again, deer are not armour plated. Less recoil, plenty of expansion and ample penetration for 70 kg animals. I once tried the Speer 235 SP and it did not appear to open up on deer at WCF velocities - it may work fine in the JDJ rifle. .

. I did in a JDJ but got poor accuracy. The 220gr Hornady and 235gr Speer buth worked well on mule deer. Matthew

See my post on Potent Plinker. The Hornday 220 is a great medium range bullet. I've used the 260 accubond with great results and am sure it would flatten any whitetail that walks. Bob

I'd use the Hornady 270 Spire Point....VERY accurate and expands great on light game w/o blowing them up. In a 14" barrel, it's one bad mamma. Gary DRSS NRA Lifer SCI DSC
