The .404 Jeffery magazine box dimensions.
I have been asked to provide the dimensions of the mag box for my Jeffery made .404.

I have done my best to measure these with a set of calipers.

Depth of box in front: 1.16 inches

Depth of box in rear: 1.48 inches

Inside width of box in front: .885 inches

Inside width of box in rear: .946

Thickness of metal that makes up the box.065 inches

Distance from edge of front screw hole to mag box: .825 inches

Distance from edge of rear screw hole to back of mag box 2.95 inches

Length: 3.45 inches
Front width .710 inches
Rear width .835 inches

I am not a tool maker so please don't be to hard on me. I can provide more info if needed.

If it feeds well, all is good. When i built my 404 on a brno 602 i used the german measurements for the 404. Width inside front 23.6mm and inside back 26mm. Lenght of mag box i think was 92mm. I am sure there are other different measurements used by the different makers, but they sure worked fine for me.

Thanks for the data, which I am collecting for my 404 Jeffery project. Maybe the rest of the world will find it useful too. All around a little bit bigger than a standard M-98 box, eh?

Sounds like the 404 Jeffery is perfect for 3 +1 in a Pre-64 M70 or an M-98 slightly opened up to the rear.
