I have been thinking about the years that I have shoot elks with my 6,5 x 55 and when I have opened the animal the hole have been around 14 mm in the shoulder the same as the expanded bullet diameter. But the lungs have been totaly destoryed and the heart have also been destoryed. So it is the energy who destory the tissue like lungs and heart. Now I know why people put the 6,5 x 55 as a minimum for moose and 375 H/H as a minimum for elephant. It is because the energy. And think realistic if the hole in a 400 kg "swedish moose" would be only around 14 mm and no other damage in the lungs and tissue. Just a 14 mm hole. Then the moose could have run for about 2 days okey not so long. But so long that you cant find it. What do you think guys...???

When the bullet expand the pressure explod the blood wessels in the lungs. And the hole is still not bigger in the shoulder meat and bones. Now I understand what the energy do.

No it was the bullet who did the damage! The same energy hit your shoulder and you can still post this
