If you were going to build a .458x2" American or a .45-350 Rem Mag on a Remington 700SA what countour barrel would you choose if you were going to cut it at 23" (no sights) and put it in a McMillan stock?

I would go with a Lothar Walter 2140 contour (.775) at the muzzle. L1 is 4" long and you cut 2" from that & only 1" from the muzzle = 23".



Contour #2140: Medium Sporter Varmint

ØD1 = 0.775"
ØD2 = 0.950"
ØD3 = 1.200"
L1 = 4.0"
L2 = 7.0"
L3 = 26" or 28"

Called them today and I got one all set up in LW50 steel with 1-17.7 twist and Poly rifling.
