I recently purchased a fairly clean little Boswell hammer double in 303. What can the experience members of this forum tell me about the rifle? The serial number is in the 14000 range. Perry

Try posting on the rifle forum at http://www.internetgunclub.com They have several archives with documentation from several British gunmakers past and present and are associated with the Birmingham Proof House. You would get details from them free of charge. Their Historical database is also excellent. Best wishes - the 303 is a superb round and your rifle must be absolutely beautiful. Do post pictures here. Mehul Kamdar "I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them."-- Patrick Henry

Aside from Boswell being awell respected name I can tell you little about your rifle. I have a 303 Watson Bros and shot it for the first time on Saturday. I used some very old Dominion Ammo as the 215 gr. load is not being produced anymore. The recoil is on par with a 243 or 257R. My rifle appears as if it will be very accurate shooting one barrel into .5 inch and the other into .75 inch. Try NitroExress.com if you don't get what you are looking for here.

I think Elmer Keith also had a Boswell double but in a much larger caliber. He took it to Africa and shot hell out of it. You can borrow money but you can not borrow time. Go hunting with your family.
