A close friend,Stuart Elliott, sent this video to me of a guy testing the 1x-10x March scope on a CZ550 in 416 Rigby. Stuart Elliott in Australia is the second largest March dealer. The video is about 15 minutes. http://vimeo.com/17039760 Butch

Not sure I would put my CZ 550M 416 Rigby in a Lead Sled. Still there was a huge amount of eye relief with that March scope! I did not see the whole video. Too long! There was a guy at the range the other day, sighting in his 7mm RM. He was telling his girlfriend that he wanted to sight it in exactly. He had a 50 pound barbell weight on it and it still moved under recoil! I did not see his groups but he sure was using up a lot of ammo. Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. I looked through this scope in daylight and compared it with 5 other scopes positioned on different tripods. The lateral eye movement on the 1x-10x March scope was very sensitive. I called the salesman around to come see, and to verify my observation of the scope having a critacal eyebox. He agreed that it was in fact to sensitive of being used as a hunting scope. All scopes were set on 6x maginification. The March scope was clear though and obviously it has good glass that would shine at down or dusk, but I could not make a clear case in daylight that it was clearer than the Zeiss or the Swarovski. I was most impressed with the new and cheaper Zeiss Duralyt's brightness. Only wish they had put a longer tube on the Duralyt and repositioned the dials to a centre position for ease of mounting. The price of the March scope was also too high ... at least here in SA. The sensitivity that I eluded to may just have to do with mechanics of the 10x erector instead of 3 or 4 times. Swarovski has stopped short at a 6x erector, and perhaps with good reason. From a hunting point of view the best view and the quickest target acquisition for me was the Zeiss 6x fixed scope. Unforetunately, on the day they did not have the Zeiss Victory with its superior coatings available. Warrior

I have Leupole and Burris scopes on all my rifles. And they do not bother me when shooting

A: He can shoot B; 3000 fps with a 350 is screaming, wonder what I will be able to get out of the 416-505 I am building? C:That would be one hell of a elk bear or moose set up. JD DRSS 9.3X74 tika 512 9.3X74 SXS Merkel 140 in 470 Nitro

I handled a March on a 308 mountain rifle in 2-25 didn't have any trouble at all with the "eye box". I felt it was far superior than the Leupold I was using Mike Legistine actu quod scripsi? Never under estimate the internet community's ability to reply to your post with their personal rant about their tangentially related, single occurrence issue. What I have learned on AR, since 2001: 1. The proper answer to: Where is the best place in town to get a steak dinner? is…You should go to Mel's Diner and get the fried chicken. 2. Big game animals can tell the difference between .015 of an inch in diameter, 15 grains of bullet weight, and 150 fps. 3. There is a difference in the performance of two identical projectiles launched at the same velocity if they came from different cartridges. 4. While a double rifle is the perfect DGR, every 375HH bolt gun needs to be modified to carry at least 5 down. 5. While a floor plate and detachable box magazine both use a mechanical latch, only the floor plate latch is reliable. Disregard the fact that every modern military rifle uses a detachable box magazine. 6. The Remington 700 is unreliable regardless of the fact it is the basis of the USMC M40 sniper rifle for 40+ years with no changes to the receiver or extractor and is the choice of more military and law enforcement sniper units than any other rifle. 7. PF actions are not suitable for a DGR and it is irrelevant that the M1, M14, M16, & AK47 which were designed for hunting men that can shoot back are all PF actions. 8. 95 deg F in Africa is different than 95 deg F in TX or CA and that is why you must worry about ammunition temperature in Africa (even though most safaris take place in winter) but not in TX or in CA. 9. The size of a ding in a gun's finish doesn't matter, what matters is whether it’s a safe ding or not. 10. 1 in a row is a trend, 2 in a row is statistically significant, and 3 in a row is an irrefutable fact. 11. Never buy a WSM or RCM cartridge for a safari rifle or your go to rifle in the USA because if they lose your ammo you can't find replacement ammo but don't worry 280 Rem, 338-06, 35 Whelen, and all Weatherby cartridges abound in Africa and back country stores. 12. A well hit animal can run 75 yds. in the open and suddenly drop with no initial blood trail, but the one I shot from 200 yds. away that ran 10 yds. and disappeared into a thicket and was not found was lost because the bullet penciled thru. I am 100% certain of this even though I have no physical evidence. 13. A 300 Win Mag is a 500 yard elk cartridge but a 308 Win is not a 300 yard elk cartridge even though the same bullet is travelling at the same velocity at those respective distances.
