I've been meaning to post for a couple months, but grief with Photobucket has prevented.

I bought this Rifle from a fine fellow over on 24HCF. It had a McMillan stock on it to begin with. I already have a couple "ugly" bigger rifles, so the stock now is meant for my LH MRC 358 Norma as a "beater stock" to replace the A.I. Walnut that I dont really want to wreck.

The lott is a SS MRC bbl'ed action. Roger Ferrell did all the work, tried/trued slicked up action, bedded, installed NECG sites & bbl band and glassed the Talley bases on, he also added Williams bottom metal. After I bought it, it was sent to Wayne @ AHR. He stocked it in IMO a very nice piece of Walnut, steel bedded it, installed X-bolts & his custom recoil lug, he also straightened the bolt handle.

I have only been able to shoot 350's out of it so far, 100 rounds and no issues. It came with a Leupold 2.5X & fiber optic bead, still trying to get used to the bead & will likely replace it with the standard gold bead offering from NECG.

Heres some pics (forgive me, I'm not real good at Rifle pics)

Is it hard for you to reach over the action to work the bolt?

Big Grin

Roger has done several rifles for me. He does really good work!

Nicely done! I'd expect no less from Roger or Wayne. Both are excellent at thier craft. Roger has worked on a few rifles for me. Built one walk-around varmint rig and have 2 others in Queue in my safe.

I got cut short on my last post. Roger is a great smith/builder for sure. Last time I was in there he working on a Ruger No. 1, I believe to be a 600NE. Definitely an interesting piece.

I really like your Lott, a lot. Wayne does superb stocking as well, IMO. And at a very reasonable rate from what I've seen.

Very nice looking rifle and not bad for a 'beater' stock!

Not too hard to cycle the bolt Judge, but I need to get faster.

LA7mm, I took off the "beater" and replaced with this one.

Now just waiting for my 1000rnd count of 405's

Snowwolfe, it is a SS bbl & Action, I dont know for sure what finish Wayne uses, he had to re-do it after he straightened the bolt handle & he had to move the bbl band to be proportinate with the stock length.

Shoot him a PM (bitteroot), he's busy at the shows, but I'm sure he will reply to you when he can.

ps, this is the gun I got when I couldnt/didnt buy your MRC Lott

Did you replace the original MRC guard with the Williams primarily to get the "Oberndorf" look? I had a beatup pre-64 Mod.70 and a post-64 that I did the same thing to. I first bought their standard replacement metal and when the Oberndorf style came out, I sold the first and bought the newer style. Nice looking rifle, by the way. I hope it shoots as good as it looks.

I actually didnt replace it, the guy I bought it from had done it already. I'm not sure why he built it then sold it right away (but am glad he did), I dont think he shot it much...

Roger's built one for me (LH .458 Lott M-70), and tweaked a couple. He does superb work. Look him up if you're in need of rifle-smithing in the Atlanta area.

You have a very nice rifle.

I have had Roger work on a number of rifles for me over the years and have always been impressed with his work. In every instance, Roger has been straight forward, communicated on a timely basis, delivered on what he said he would do, and his work is first rate....does not get much better than that!
