Has anyone ever shot an Elephant with the 458 Lott shooting solids at 2355 FPS? I own one and plan on using it for Elephant next trip to Africa in a couple years. Just got back from Africa hunting Plains Game. Got 4 of them.

Load a bunch of 450grn barnes for local PH's at 2360fps, and they are happy. my 500grn loads using woodleighs run to 2300fps and some PH's prefer that. A few swear by the 550grn woodleighs at 2150.

I really don't think it matters. I have never personally killed an elephant with anything larger than a 9,3, and in any loading the Lott is going to have a lot more clout
