I just returned from So.Africa where I was hunting with a Sako Deluxe in 375. I was in the bush a lot and on two occasions found the the brush or something had taken the rifle off safe. THe thumb safety seems to sit high off the stock. Hasd anyone else had this problem?

I shoot two Sako TRGSs and I believe we have use the same (or close enough) 2 pos safety. I constantly thumb (check) to make sure the safety is on "safe" while carrying. Muzzle discipline is always the rule but a good safety is not a bad thing.

Although the Sako 2 pos safety isn't bad, I really like a wing safety. It is pretty hard for a wing to be "swung" into battery from "safe."

If your safety moves with very light pressure maybe something (stronger spring, detent, etc) can be done to make it more positive. Obviously I'm no gunsmith!!!

Good luck and take care

John

There are those that do, those that dream, and those that only read about it and then post their "expertise" on AR!
