GeedubyaBrowning HighWall, 45-70
Biebs was kind enough to send this fine high-wall along with a number of loaded rounds. I added the Ziess Conquest 3-9 scope.
The acrylic finish has been stripped and the metal "antiqued".
I do believe it will be a shooter and a superb "hoglet" roller!
First shot @ 100 yds out of a cold barrel after zero!
ya!

RobgunbuilderI have one of those and they do indeed shoot great. My favorite load is 50 gr of IMR 3031 and a 400 gr paper patched soft lead bullet. Very impressive.
What! Smokeless powder, jacketed bullets, and modern scope! Sacrilege!
Accuracy handloads noted.
49 to 50 grains of IMR-3031 with 400-405 grainers.
For hogbusting with the Marlin lever action I use Elmer's load of 53 grains IMR-3031 and 400-405 grain cast or jacketed.
But slowing it down a tad if accuracy is improved would be worthy.
I have the 125th Anniversary model of that rifle from BACO.
It has some gold lettering and gloss bluing, but wood is just plumb plain-Jane compared to the above.
I have never fired mine, but that gun-cabinet princess needs to go for a ride!
I been saving some Leupold STD(tm) bases and low rings,
and I have some aluminum Weaver bases to fit it, and a tang peep sight.
I think I can machine either of the front bases enough to install and leave the semi-buckhorn rear sight in place.
But if I use the Weaver bases, they will be less obtrusive when scope is off.
Then I will have open rear sight for close-range, tang peep for mid-range,
and for the long-range I can slap a mil-dot, illuminated-reticle, 4-16X scope on there in some QD tacticool rings.
Heck, I could put a laser on a picatinny-ed ring top for surprise close-up work,
if the aluminum Weaver base will hold up.
Or a red-dot/reflex sight instead of a scope ... the nontraditional possibilities are many ...
There is more than one way to skin a wildcat.
