Has any one taken the time to develop a 375H&H handload for the Speer 235gr SP Bullet using Hodgdon BL-C(2). I would like to fast track to a tight grouping, proven pressure tolerent, optimal charge weight (OCW) load.

For a light load start with 60 grains of IMR 3031 and work up. 64 grains has shot good in in a couple of 375 H&H's. Velocity @ 2500fps. Works great on deer. Never used BL-C(2), sorry. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

I've not had a lot of luck with these bullets except on paper. This load provided 2" groups at 200 yards from my Weatherby Weathermark Alaskan in .375 H&H: 235 gr Speer 80.0 Gr IMR 4350 Remington cases Win WLR primers 2,611.8 average velocity w SD of 13.6 and a MAD of 9.1. Bullet left chunks of itself in the wound canal on a white tail. The following load in the same rifle shot 0.28" groups at 100 yards but is way too fast: 235 gr Speer 76.0 gr RL15 Remington cases Win WLR primers. 2,934.3 fps average velocity w SD of 17.2 and a MAD of 11.7. RL-15 has a burn rate similar to BL-C(2). Mike -------------- DRSS, Womper's Club, NRA Life Member/Charter Member NRA Golden Eagles ... Knifemaker, http://www.mstarling.com

I just worked up a new .375 H&H load for the 225 grain Hornady Spire Point and BL-C(2). Start was 80.0 grains and maximum 86 grains for just under 3000 fps. Lonnie Hummel of Hornady told me that the jacket on this bullet is the same thickness from shank through the ogive as the 270 grain and it has the Interlock ring. I have not shot anything with this new load yet, but I have shot deer with this bullet at 2850 fps and it worked well. You learn something new everyday whether you want to or not.
