Is there such a thing as 348 Winchester basic
brass that's about 3.00-3.25" long? Thank you.

(e.g. 405 Win Basic )

The 348 is based on the Win 50 cal black powder case. 50 cal brass is available but it might be Sharps dimensions instead of the Win. I think 50-3.25" brass could be made to work.

No, the base ahead of the rim on 50-140 Sharps
IS .565 inch. --same as the 450NE #2-- and my 499HE.

The .551" size shown in ammoguide matches 50-110 Win,
And the 348 Win...Ed

I seen a case in a book listed a 50-140 WIN Expreas with
that base size, but have never found any or seen any for sale.

The 50-140 Sharps is long enough and I could shrink some of
them down to a .551" base from their .565" size if wanted.
As long as using modern solid head cases..Ed

It is done just as I rework case sides to make my 585HE cases.
In case spinner/lathe take bottom ahead of rim down, and only
have to remove .007" a side, total .014" -----.565" minus .551" = .014

Taper it out on the side then swage side straight. I showed sketch
in other 585HE thread of how it is done.

The dimensions for the 40-110 are correct at the link.Ed
