If memory serves me correctly the web page those shotguns were described on was actually for some kind of role playing or computer game.

Try to e-mail them, it is not Russian shotgun company, it is "Tula Arms plant" . . .

The original importer was Tennesseeguns. ( http://www.tennesseeguns.com/firearms/shtguns.html )
I looked for a long time at the 4ga pumps regarding ammo and such, but never 'pulled the trigger' on one. I ended up with a SxS 8ga which I hunted Phesants with on our opening weekend (2.25oz #5 shot, 45gr BlueDot, .007 Mylar wrap, Gulandi wads, 1/2" fiber wad, Green Remington Industrial hull with the belt swaged, roll crimped on a drill press, and a Rem 209 primer) and limited out.

e-mail me 'off-line'. I know of one person (has a 4ga pressure test barrel also) who shoots a single shot under-lever steel barreled 4ga and can help you.

It's an Evans. It has 35.5" Damascus barrels that are going to Keith Kertcher ( http://members.toast.net/keithkearcher/ ) to get re-browned probably in Dec or Jan. I'll get the outside diameter at the breach & muzzle tonight/tommorow for you. It was a guy on the east coast that had it for sale, not Tennguns. It has a date of 1877 stamped on the watertable.

The linky no workie, I know. It's been dead for a while, but that was the correct link. I'd bet that is where Big Al or the original owner of that gun got the 4ga.

Indeed my memory did not serve me correctly at all. In fact I now remember that Tula website above from a couple of years ago too.

Big al, sorry can't reply to your PM-it keeps chucking me out of my profile.
I might have been the guy you were talking to about these. From memory(now that its jolted [Big Grin] ) I didn't think much of the commercially loaded 4 or 8 guages on offer- The shot payloads aren't all that amazing when you consider they are cramming 2 1/2 ounces into a 12 guage these days.
