OK, I have 6 different sub MOA loads that push the 260 grain Partition between 2650 fps and 2730 fps in my 375 H&H, M70 and need to pick a 300 grain solid or mono-metal bullet to go with one of them.

I figure with 6 different points of impact to choose from I should be able to find a heavy load that groups close to one of them.

What does everyone recommend for a 300 grain, 375 cal penetrator?

I would use either the GS Custom FN solid or the Bridger brass FN solid.

Northfork also makes a flat nose solid...If your gun will feed them the FN is by far the better design, if your gun won't feen FN bullets, then get it fixed is my approach to the problem, but the RN will get the job done if you don't want the hassel of fix'en...

It has been my experience that your way ahead to try and get a 300 gr. soft to shoot with a 300 gr. solid..Keep your weights close...

Jack O'Conner once said that the 375 tends to put all bullet together, that was the only thing he ever said that I disagree with, damn few of them will do that, and I have owned many more 375s than Jack...

I see little use for anything but 300 gr. bullets for the .375 in africa..I have used the 260 Nosler partition, the 260 Bal tip, and other light loads, and they didn't show me anything over a good 285 gr. Northfork or 300 gr. Woodleigh....

Fjold,

About that M70, if it is a new one there are probably many sharp edges on it, such as the edge of the chamber, edge of the feed ramp, etc. If you get those sharp edges rounded off, the chance of misfeeds is reduced.

Personally I would use a 270 gr Bridger FN but I'm a bit biased. They will penetrate better than a RN solid especially in tissue and still break bone. I’ve not heard of one stopping inside a buffalo. That is what a solid is supposed to do IMO.

The Bridger FN looks interesting and at 270 grains might be compatible with my 260 grn Ppartitions.

Ray, Would you shoot the NorthForks for everything where you would use a softpoint and a solid, or would you shoot a different solid?
