WEll ,I finaly picked a good wooden blank for my 458 Lott cutom gun getting made up. Its 10 years old, nice figure and colour ,but most importantly ,its nice and hard with good grain structure in the wrist area. I have pics on my email and computer ,but I,m buggered if I know how to post the pic.

Not my idea of optimum grain layout, but it is pretty! I hope it works out well for you. ASS_CLOWN

The pics are all of the same blank. Some of the pics look darker becaude it was in bad shadow.(poor photography). In real life it looks better ,not so washy in the buttstock area. In real life ,the colours in the buttstock look stronger and better defined. We laid a template over it and all the strength important areas are in good grain flow areas. The but where it says ,NOT DRY YET is marked 1998 ,so it should be dry now 5 or 6 years later in good storage.
