I'm considering purchasing a Blaser R93 Safari in .375 H&H. Can anyone give me some feedback on their experience with the rifle?

People either love them or hate them.

I love mine. I have had it for several years.

When taken down and put back together it keeps its zero, even for the first shot 100%.

Same is true for the scope mount.

I have never had any kind of feeding, extraction, or ejection problems with one.

It is one of the most, probably THE most accurate factory out of the box rifle I have fired.

I have used mine in rain, lots of heavy rain in Alaska. In below freezing conditions in Alaska, once my rifle was under water for over 7 minutes when my snow mobile broke through the river, [luckly I was not under water with it ].

Used it in heavy snow fall, Idaho and Wyoming.

I have used it in high dusty and sandy conditions.

Never had ANY problems.

I have a Blaser R93 in .375, although it is not the heavy barreled Safari model.

It is an excellent rifle. One hundred percent reliable, super-accurate and handy to pack and use. It has accounted for a lot of game, often under adverse (wet, hot, dusty, etc.) conditions.

Owing to its light weight and lack of recoil pad, it did kick a fair bit as it came from the factory.

I added a one inch Answer products recoil pad (which is unfortunately no longer made) and a Blaser Kickstop recoil reducer to it. I also added a small Break-O tube in the fore end, to counteract the weight of the Kickstop. These have made it into a pussycat in the recoil department.

Mine weighs ten pounds scoped and fully loaded (four rounds - three down and one up the spout).

I would recommend that you get the Kickstop and make sure you install a good recoil pad if you buy the Safari model. With the heavy Safari contoured barrel, you will not need to add weight to the fore end to achieve excellent balance, as I did.

I agree with N E 450 No2 and Mrlexma. I have a Prestige R93 in 9.3X62. They are great rifles. I thought a bit about getting one in a .375 H&H and just decided on a 9.3X62 instead. I really like the cartridge and I am convinced that at the ranges at which dangerous game is usually taken and with the premium bullets we have today, it will do everything a .375 will do. My Prestige is on the light side which I like and the 9.3X62 doesn't have near the recoil of the .375. They also come in 9.3X64 as well and that round will clearly equal the .375. They come apart and go back together with no loss of zero on your scope. The feed great and right out of the box, the trigger is excellent. IMHO it is the best takedown option on the market today.

Mauser 98 for me please. Do not like Blasers. They are very accurate most of them. But I do not trust the "straight pull" repeating system. To me they seems "over engineered"..

Well, at least you didn't say you hated it.

Nothing wrong with Blaser engineering. You might also consider a Heym SR-30 in 9.3 x 62. About the same price and more exclusive for sure.

Yep, but it seems as that's as big as they get.

R93's are well made accurate and reliable, but horribly overpriced. Here, the standard wood stock model costs about 2700€/ 4300 4180 $. If one doesn't feel the need to take the rifle down or the possibility to switch between calibers (at a high cost), their price is ridicoulous.

They're quite a bit cheaper than that here.........

If cost is a factor, you do not have to get the Safari model. I have the standard R93 with a 375H&H barrel. It is very accurate and seems to handle like a dream.

I like mine, been shooting one for almost two years now. Ok its a 7mm Remington Mag. But you can go and get another barrel in dam near any chambering or close to it. And it packs well too
