I sorta thinking of putting a LPS 1.5-6 on my Whitworth 375, anyone using this scope? Know where I could buy a good used one? A new one?

mark65x55,

They don't make them anymore, but you may be able to find one on the used market.

I have a 2.5-10x45mm model, and like it very much.

That's funny they still list them on their web site. There is no mention about no longer available.

A guy at Leup told me they had reliability problems with the LPS, particularly the 1.5-6x.

After taking a look at the various outlets it looks like they are still on the market but no one has the 1.5 X 6 listed for sale. The 2.5 X 10's are available.

Don't know why the 1.5-6 is still on the website. Leupold told me over the phone (many months, or maybe even a year or two ago, by now) that they had discontinued that model.

Makes you wonder doesn't it. Perhaps they are trying to work out the problems and bring it back to market. That's a very nice range on a variable scope.

Why bother with a fake Euro scope when genuine ones are available? Roll Eyes

I have one from Leupolds last year of production. Mine has a German-4 reticle and works very well. When LEU came out w/ the bigger 2.5-10x LPS they did not find enough sales of the 1.5-6x LPS to keep it in production.

This scope does have one quirk, the field of view is huge at maximum eye relief when set at 1.5x. As a result, the very outer edge has a small amount of perceptible distortion. Other than that it is crystal clear. It is heavy, but I've kept mine to use if I ever hunt big cats.

I was told by Leopold that the mk4 and vxIII have better light transmission than the LPS
