Was wondering if anyone has loaded the 270tsx in 376s? what V have you achieved? were they normal load lengths? I was also looking at the gsc265HV pill. If launched at 2550v/3800e, it has 200yd:2330/3150,300yd:2210/2850. A very authorative 300yd moose/eland cannon. For downrange performance,it shadows any typical 300gnLeadcore375H*H load. In actual fact, it aint that far behind a 378WM-300aframe@2900/5700...2150/3045@300yd). Admittedly, no where near the muzzle energy of the 378wm, but that is not required for what I would be using the 376s for. In any case, it sounds a pretty good offering to me,when looking athe size of rifle its comming from and its much more moderate recoil. The problem may be, it would have to fit in M70sa(3.08"box) the gsc265Hv is 1.42" .Loading the pill with its uppermost band at the mouth of the neck will give about 3.0"oal, suppose we could extend it from there to 3.060". I have heard GSC use a more dense material than tsx,so it may well be shorter,a little bonus.Combined with the fact gcsHV can be run at higher velocity than any other pill, may make up for its intrusion into the case compared to a lead core bullet(270NF length 1.26"). If we can determine what a 270tsx will run at, then the 265hv will be no less, for sure. What powder would you use for such a loading? What twist barrel would you ideally install? | ||
