| I've been running 300gr casts through my Lott over IMR 3031 for cheap practice loads. |

| If you really want cheap bullets you have to cast, or find someone else to do it for you. Shooting will practically feel free once you take that leap. |

| I'm casting the Lee 500 grain FP with a gas check.

| In the process of moving give me some time and I can send you some 400 gr LBT LFN sized .4605 I have used for years in my Ruger 458 to try. They work great out to 150 yards. |

| My thank's to all of you that responded. I am already casting bullets for my Sharps rifles. (45's and 50's) so I can use some of the .45 designs in the Winchester and Lott. I was after a replacement for the Hornady Interlocks. It begins to look like there is not an inexpensive replacement for them. Woodleigh and Hornady DG series bullets are very good just not inexpensive. I may have to shoot my 375 H&H more as I have a boatload of Hornady Interlocks on hand in that caliber. I do wish Hornady would bring them back as they did about 10-12 years ago when they were discontinued and production was resumed. Maybe too much to ask. |

| I don't know if Remington 405's or Speer 400's are still made but they are nice bullets for 45's. |

| I tend to develop my reloads for a specific bullet (or in the case of my 458WM bullets). And then practice with those reloads I'm going to hunt - i.e. "practice the way your going to play!" That said, Do to the high cost of 450 Swift-As and 450 Barnes Solids, I worked up my initial reloads with the 405 Remintons. Looking back - I'm glad I did as the size die setting and the crimp die setting required way more work and testing than I had planned. Haven't bought any 405s for some years, but can recommend that bullet from experience as a good practice bullet for shooting paper.
