Okay, I think i need to just go lay down and let this pass...

latest bigbore wildcat idea (haven't SEEN either)
Take the 9,3x64 brenneke and neck it UP to either 404 or 416. No nasty belt to deal with, should have a good shoulder, and about 92 grains of water....

3.35 oal
2.50 case

yeah, I think it's a 416 taylor with no belt, but the 404 might be different.. Something bigger than a 411 hawk, with a slightly larger case?

Some people have too much time on their hands..

idle hands

A great massage would certainly be cheaper, wouldn't it?

The 9.3x64 has a shoulder diameter of .474, there wouldn't be much left to headspace on.

Bear Claw,
What about on a .416.. it would have about a .028- to .030 shoulder, without going to a .458 exp? The 411 hawk is based off the 30-06.. and it has a .473 HEAD diameter...

I still think i just need to get a massage

Basically, a beltless .416 Taylor. I have not done the math, but I make my 9.3X64 brass out of .458 Win Mag brass by turning off the belt and re cutting the rims and extractor groove and necking down. Isn't this pretty close to the .416 Howell?-Rob
