I'm on the lookout for a recoil pad for my .458Lott for when I get a nice custom stock for it.
At the moment I have a Pachmayr F990 which certainly is effective, but uglier than a hat full of arseholes.
So who makes a suitable pad for a custom stock that takes the edge of recoil?

Kickeeze on my Ruger No. 1 in .458 Win. Mag. seems effective and not ugly.

But then I'm a "recoil junky."

As discussed elsewhere in here, a lot of "recoil control" has to do with the fit of the gun. Comb height and LOP determines if you get slapped or kicked.

I have had excellent luck with the pachmayr D752, Old English. I also use this for a base for leather covered pads, they are great and look nice, especially the red ones.

The problem with the F990 is that it is fine when you start shooting the "big gun" but then you get used to it and a Decelerator would be just as good. So use a Decelerator to begin with!

I would suggest the Pachmayr XLT Magnum Ultra Soft Pad. I have one on my 375 H&H and I love it!
