450 NE Brass Login/Join

I posted this a few days ago over in Reloading, but didn't get any replies. Please excuse the double post:

I need to buy some 450 Nitro Express brass. The only brand that I can easily find is Bertram, and I'd rather not use Bertram if I can avoid it.

CH4D sells 450 NE brass made by Ballard. Is this any good? Someone told me that MAST / BeLL brass is excellent, but on their web site they only list .45 basic. Can this be easily formed into .450 NE?

anyone know of any other sources of 450 NE? Thanks,

shiflan

Wish I could help. Sorry.

The proprietor at CH4D is a bit of a double nut himself, and I suspect that if he says Ballard is good brass, then it is. He has always given me truthful and correct info.

You're in luck. I have both a box of Bertram and a box of Bell-made HDS from Huntington's, and I much prefer the latter. My .450 NE on a Ruger No. 1 Tropical will be ready in the next few days, and I can't wait to shoot the beast.
You can get the cheaper HDS brass at huntingtons.com for $38 per 20. Good stuff!

Try www.huntingtons.com click on "CASES", then "HDS". There are two rim thicknesses, and you need to determen which you need.
