Shooters, Hunters and Dreamers! The Spring Safari Rifle Shoot at PRGC will be held on the afternoon of Sunday 17-Apr-2011 at 1PM set up 12PM or so. Formerly called a Big Bore or Dangerous Game shoot, this month's shoot will be a somewhat improved version of the prior events. I am adding a "Plains Game" stage, shooting at those small sized Safari Press targets at up to 50 yds, you can use the same big bore rifle or a smaller rifle. We'll still have the full sized Elephants, the full sized charging Cape Buffalo, some miniature targets of the big 5 animals. Scoring is points per hit with penalties for time, miss/wound or underpowered rifle. and of course, a PITH HELMET awarded to the winner! Held at PRGC in Phoenix, AZ (end of 7th AVENUE up against the mountain) we'll meet at the smallbore range and after set up, split into groups and shoot the 5 stages. Expect 5 shots on plains game and 11 to 14 shots with your big bore rifle(s). Should be done 4 or 5 PM or so. $20 fee. Spectators welcome! Hey.....Thats me. The shoot was a real hoot, I had a problem with my .375, it jammed a spent case on my very first shot. I shot the ENTIRE corse with my .500NE. Any and all Phoenix area shooters need to do this. Steve Formerly "Nganga"

BTW, The guy that's running in the brown hat. His name is Mike De Leon. He is the guy that shot the buffalo off of Alister Norton in September last year. He was using the GMA .458Lott pictured. Steve Formerly "Nganga"

You're the only one who doesn't have a big beer gut. Is the beer belly some sort of prerequisite? If so, I qualify to participate. I've invested lots of six packs in mine.

Wayne (Bitterroot) refers to that as "Ballast" and I concur wwih that choice of terms as mine prevents my from tipping over in strong wind ... Nganga is trying to emmulate that body habitus by keeping a couple of belt sides full of ammo where his "ballast" should be. we split into two groups and each group shot the stages in a different sequence that made it go faster. But it meant that my camera only took pictures of guys in my group and the guy I always handed my camera to took a lot of pics so there are a lot of pics of me (and the shirt & hat I got on a biz trip to RSA about 13 years ago) Poole
