Fresh 416 Rem
Here is my 416 Rem. Built from a 1953 pre 64 Win 70 H&H length action.

It has a #5 contour 22" Douglas Premium Stainless in 1:12 twist.

Figured Claro walnut stock with Ebony forend tip, checkered steel grip cap, Pachmayer Decelerator recoil pad, dual steel crossbolts and duplex bedding; the action is bedded in Brownell's SteelBed and the barrel is rock solid in Brownell's AcraGlas Gel.

Marbles # 25 rear and banded ramp front, topped with 2-7 Leupold Vari-XIIc in Leupold QR bases and rings. 9.01 pounds empty.

I assembled, to include fitting the barrel, from used parts from friends.

ETA: Ahlman's did the recoil crossbolts and the checkering.

Nice package. It looks like a great user. Did you consider coating the barrel to match the receiver?

Never gave it a though and still don't. It's stainless and that is how she's staying.

I wish I had used a fresh target instead of this old patched up one. Anyhow here is my rock solid bedded Douglas 1:12 barrel in action. The first shot was wide right. 6 clicks left and there is the next three shots in a tight clover leaf shot at 100 yds on 2X.

ETA: The shots low/left are an Ar15 in 223.

ETA: Load data: R-P brass case, Fed 215 Primer, 400 gn Hornady Interlock #4165, over 75.0 gns of IMR 4064. Velocity is 2345 fps.
