Are these wall hangers, or shooters? Do they hold value or treated as a lowly replica? And, how about availability and street price compared to MSRP.

I want a 45-70 and was set on a HR buffalo classic. With the HR, it is cheap now and I assume cheap later, so no loss from that respect.

The current Navy Arms and Cimeron Arms sharps rifles are made by Pedersoli and are excellent quality. They can often be found new at about 80 to 90% of MSRP if you cruise the web. As to resale, they will hold value about as well as any other quality used gun. If you are looking for a shooter, they are generally accurate and the Pedersoli's while a little more expensive that the other imports are supposed to be much better quality.

Im looking to bang at targets only, no organized competition. Handloading smokeless. Are most of the replicas good for 450 marlin levels, or not. I dont want to routinely beat my shoulder, but I not sure I want to limit my options on this issue either.

Is there an option that falls closer to the HR Buffalo Classic in price, besides a lever gun. Are there any other replica makers/distributors I could look into. THnks

Bajabill,
Think about a Ruger#1. I see one of these in .375 H&H or .458 Win for less than $500 about once a year. Remember that you can always load the big ones down. My .375H&H is a lot more fun with a light cast bullet load, and very accurate also. Go to the shoots as a spectator and talk to the shooters (when they're not busy), Shooters tend to sell to other shooters at reasonable prices. Look for work on the side so that you can buy some nice toys. I worked an extra part-time job, 350 hrs this summer (at 1/2 my usual wage), and bought a 1886 Winchester 45-70, 1895 Winchester .405 Win, Browning BLR .358 Win, and Savage 99 .300 Sav. (and a bunch of ammo, dies, etc.).
