<STARTING BIG BORE>
posted
I know there are a lot of people on the forum that have this rifle. What I want to know is has any one loaded the 650 grain Mil. pulled bullets and what was the max load, powder and velocity they were able to get. Also is the reloading data in the reloading section of this site good or are they a little elevated. I have a place to start, but I don't know what to expect or when to start swetting. I don't have a crono, so that is why I am asking......Dan P. ( this is a 1917 enfield with a 28" barrel it wieghs 15lbs what can I expect for recoil I am a little worried about recoil never touched off anything this big

Dan,

I have used the 619 grain APIT and I used 111 grains RL-15. Max load in my rifle for a 600 grain is 113 grains. Never chronographed them. I have never used that heavy a bullet.

Do you have the A-Square reloading manual?

Just use 110 grains of IMR4350 and work up from there. I use that charge with 750 grain bullets and excellent results.
