Just wanting to enquire if anyone is using the cz mounts on their bigbore cz's and how are they handling recoil.

PS this forum is great and I am learning plenty of a lot of people who have heaps more experience than me. Apologies if my questions silly/insignificant.

Regards inadvance PC

I have a set on my 602 holding a 2.5-8x Leupold. No problems after I got it set up properly.

JPB what did you have to do to set it up properly?, can it be done easily or is it a smiths job? What calibre is your 602?

CZ mounts on their .416 Rigby, with a steel K1.5. No problems I can see yet. The lug fits the rear bridge properly, no evidence of scope or mount movement. About 40 rounds or so, so maybe it's too soon to tell.

I am using CZ mounts on my 602 in 450 Dakota, and so far have had no problems (using a steel Weaver K 2.5).

Hi PC

I had a bit of problem when I first mounted ths scope with slipping (but only with the heaviest loads). I lapped the rings with a one-inch bar and lapping compound, but even though I removed little (the rings were well-aligned to start), the ends of the rings were just starting to touch. Obviously, tightening the screws did not increase clamping power past this point.

On the advice I got from there, I put a small (i.e. narrower than the ring) slip of good bond paper inside the rings. Tightened it down and that cured everything.

This was a with a rather ancient Leupold glossy-finish scope -- I think the newer ones with the matte finish might provide a better clamping surface.

I think the CZ scope mount I have it kind of ugly, but it sure seems strong.

If I'm not mistaken Talley is gearing up to make CZ mounts for CZ's in the future. that will certainly be a step in the right direction...I would think.
