Anybody know the rifle twist on a Sako AV in .375. My rifle is having a terrible time digesting the .300 Nosler Ballistic Tip in a Federal Premium load. Old .270 grain Remington Core Lokt shoot wonderful. I am wondering if the rate of twist is insufficient to stabilize these heaving bullets. I have a Model 70 in .375 but would prefer to carry the Sako to Africa since it is lighter and the action is smoother. Anybody who can enlighten me as to the rate of twist is appreciated.

Excuse me it is early in the morning and I meant to write Nosler Partition bullets. I am not thru my first cup of coffee yet. My apologies.

I'm about 99% sure it is a 1 in 12 twist, I suggest a tight patch and a ruler method to get a close ballpark idea of what you have. For what it is worth: Some rifles just don't like some bullets or powder charges combinations. Try some Swifts as they are better bullets anyway. Also I never had great luck with the 250260 grain bullets in mine. But the 235 Speers were awesome accurate and the 300 Hornady FMJ's were capable of better than 1 MOA.
