I'm looking for a good source for .375H&H snap caps.

I have found that my CZ has smoothed up quite a bit with just a little shooting(about 200 rnds). I have worked the bolt quite a bit and it is sigificantly smoother than when I bought it. The trigger has a ways to go but is much better than at first. The saftey needs some work.

Now that winter has hit trips to the range will be more infrequent so I need some snap caps. I want to get a half dozen or so. That way I can load it up and run it through the paces with a full mag a bunch before it goes off to the smith. Since I need a bunch cost is a factor.

Anyone have suggestion of good and ones to steer clear of?

Thanks!

Fireman,
Snap caps IMO are for double guns, they are a lot weaker than bolt action rifles...

Dry firing a bolt gun does not damage the gun and even if it did a firing pin is pretty cheap..I have been dry firing my bolt guns for years without damage...

You could however just load up some empty rounds with the shot primers still in them and use those as opposed to snap caps. I do that to check function...or glue eraser material in the primer holes....since cost is a factor.

Rusty thanks for the tip. That is exactly what I am looking for.

Ray, I was taught not to dry fire, bad for the firing pin. You are saying it is okay? I always figure an occasional dry fire was okay but a lot was bad. Not the first time I have been wrong!

I would make up some but I am only set up to reload .45 Colt. A press and dies for the .375 is a couple of months away, gotta pay for Christmas first.
