Does anyone make a fitted case for long rifles?I have seen them for doubles but not for a standerd bolt action. Some of the custom big bores would look awful nice in a Fitted case.Browning makes a nice doublegun case but cant find anything for longer bolt rifles. Thanks in advance! thumb

Fitted? The best?

Marvin Huey, makes them for all the ACGG raffle projects

If they don't have to be french fitted (is that the right term guys for when it is right up to the edge?) then you can get universal ones from Jeff's Outfitter's. I think the difference is about 2200 dollars! Smiler I have seen one of Marvin's in person, spectacular, I'd love to spend a couple of weeks up there watching them do it. He's a nice fellow to talk to too, spoke to him once on the phone.

Look at the pics, you'll be impressed, I wish they would do some sort of special on tv on him, or put larger pics on the sight.

I think this guy could make whatever one wanted but is probably more suited to casing muzzleloaders. I am going to have him do my 8-bore. http://www.thetrunkshoppe.com
Amazingly, the guy actually makes his OWN locks, tacks, nails, knobs, handles, estucheons, hasps and keys. REALLY nice work and he doesn't charge anywhere near $2500. Honestly, looking at the site mentioned above, I think I should quit academia and go into the business of making turn screws and such for British double rifles since products with such an association always seem to warrant a minimum 200% mark-up. IMO Dan Walter Cases are the best travel cases but good luck getting one unless you order a Dakota. Since Dakota bought the company they have had a 3+ year waiting list. Great cases though.

ATA rated, waterproof, almost bulletproof. just cut out the foam to fit your weapon.

FEI Inc., http://www.feiguncases.com. Made me a very nice full length case for Jerry Fisher Krag, $650, canvas fleece lined outer case, $125. Partitions loose when it arrived and had to send it back, they seem to have fixed it OK. I am satisfied. But a friend VERY unhappy with a case made for him for a British SS rifle, says they are ignoring his requests to straighten out the problems.

Vigillinus,

I am resurrecting an old topic here but I am curious about the quality of your FEI case. How is it holding up? I am curious, in particular, about the construction of the corners. Are they dovetailed? Did your friend ever get his situation straightened out? Still looking to case the eight bore and doing serious shopping these days. I guess I just have a hard time believing that Huey can be $1500 better than FEI.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Best,

John
