On the reloading pages I see that 1200 gr cast lead projectiles can be used in the .585 Nyatti, my friend and I will be building a .585 each and will begin to gather some projectiles and components in readiness. We would like to try the 1200 gr cast bullets and maybe 900 gr cast bullets as well for a bit of fun and we were wondering were the mould can be purchased from for these and what mix of lead/tin or other metal should be used keep in mind I have no experience with cast projectiles or making them. Are they safe to use or will they put the actions under to much strain, we will both be building on 602 actions. For general practice will cast bullets work out cheaper than woodleighs considering the price of mould etc.

I have tried to figure out who made that 1200 grain .585 mould for Roy Vincent but to no avail. If anyone finds out where in North America there is such a mold, I would be very grateful to know. Thanks.

If anyone out there has a .585 rifle and wants to try some 535gr .590" HB cast bullets, let me know. I shoot a .577 Snider which is 130yrs old and needs some 'slightly' oversized bullets. They have a thick skirt and would fit well in the bores of the .585's. It would be a good 'ultra light' plinker round. Let me know.

Thanks for the help folks. Mike I have e-mailed the place you mention and probably order a 1200 gr mould if they can make one. I think it would be handy to have a regular weight mould like a 650 gr to as for blasting ferals it would make for cheap shooting.
