Does anyone know when the Brevex began and ended production ? as far as i know only about 800 were made and were in the 50s priced at $80.00 which then went up to $160.00 when Frank De Haas wrote about them which was regarded as ''Expensive''[in the 70s i think ]There is a 300 Model for sale at Dismal River Armoury if one of the members is interested, barreled action 333 ackley $2850.00 unused | ||

To put that price into perspective: $118.50 in 1958 dollars is the equivalent of $865.00 in 2009 dollars. My guess it that you could sell a bunch of those actions at +-$900 dollars today. I see them for sale in the $2500 range from time to time, but they don't seem to move too fast. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby.
