the heyms are a real nice double rifle i just got finished a 2 week trial with one but it right handed wich mean i would have to invest at least another thousand to restock it and for the price hes asking i might as well stick with a searcy at least i know for sure ill be happy with it. and it will be a true left handed gun.

I had a Heym bolt gun in .600 NE. It was a very nice rifle. Good workmanship, excellent fit and balance, excellent accuracy, very rugged. Not quite best quality, but still very nice. But it kicked a lot.

How well did the .600 Nitro function through a bolt action?!?!? What did you think about the non-CRF action of the Hein??? Daniel, is there a DGR that you HAVE NOT owned??? I have a Heym 88B double in .470 NE. It is a very well made and very nicely balanced rifle. I feel that the Heym doubles, although a bit costly, lead the pack in the mid range doubles. Geronimo

The solids worked absolutely perfectly, and it was staggered feed. The rifle was not really set up for softs, but you could make them work. It was a CRF action, just a giant M98 with some tweaks, like the safety and ejector were different.

Grandpa, pops used Heym and I followed in their steps. That 'Express' is a huge action designed in house and machined out of solid bar stock.

Hmmmmmmm??? So it wasn't like this Heym? Do you think that it would be a fun piece in .577 Nitro or in a lighter notes, a .460 WBY? How much was that sucker??? Ditto. Also have a Heym 88B in .470 NE and am very satisfied. In addition to balanced and well made, they are accurate too. Nice gun. Mike

I've actually been interested in their .505 Gibbs rifle. Does anyone know how much one of their standard no-frills express rifles cost? "Molotov Cocktails don't leave fingerprints" -Dr. Ski

I have a Heym M55/77 O/U with a 20ga./.30/'06 barrel set and a 12 ga set. It is beautifully made, very tight, and the '06 barrel is very accurate. I believe the Heyms are excellent weapons..... "Bitte, trinks du nicht das Wasser. Dahin haben die Kuhen gesheissen."

Feel free to contact me with any questions on the HEYMs. I'd be glad to help. Here is a better photo of the "Express." www.HEYMUSA.com

The only Heym bolt action big bore I have handled belonged to a French PH in Tanzania, Georges Billiard. It was a left hand action in .416 Rigby. He bought it because it was the only left hand action in .416 Rigby he could find at the time. I saw it circa 1995. I suppose now you can get a left hand action from Dakota or have a special order rifle made and wait for about...... I thought the rifle was a very good rifle for Africa, not a safe queen or a wall hanger, one you would use. The Heym USA site mentioned above (Dallas Double Guns?) indicates the Express Big Bore as "on sale" for $6,500. New England Custom Guns also sells them in the USA. http://www.newenglandcustomgun.com/index.html?heym.html~maindeal _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

I have a Heym 30-06 double that crosses at 30 yrds( each barrel shoot 1.5 inch groups at 100 yrds, just 8 inches apart and crossed) and a .600NE bolt gun that kicks harder than my .600Ok. I'm not impressed with Heym either from the fit and finish perspective or from the quality gunsmithing perspective. I doubt I'll ever buy another.-Rob Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers to do incredibly stupid things- AH (1941)- Harry Reid (aka Smeagle) 2012 Nothing Up my sleeves but never without a plan and never ever without a surprise!

Rob: Do you know what ammunition the double was regulated with? Have you discussed the problem with Heym? J. J. Perodeau can fix the crossing in a heartbeat. I had one that was crossing that much at 100. J. J. re-regulated it and it regulates perfectly now. He's very, very good at it. ------------------------------------------------ "Serious rifles have two barrels, everything else just burns gunpowder."

I don't know what the double is regulated for, but my Heym bolt .375H&H Mag. certificate lists A-Square VM 300grain. A 300gr Vollmantel A-Square load? I think they meant to list RWS. I would rank fit and finish of this Jaeger rifle as excellent.
