We built a 577 T-Rex for a fellow last year with a Niedner buttplate. I had to sight it in. I didn't wear a mouthpiece but I did wear my jockstrap and cup.

Bitteroot

Did you know that some pretty serious viruses are coming out of your site. Or at least that is what Norton is telling me.

I haven't had any problems with it, but I do not claim any expertise.

That's the first I've heard of it. My anti virus software hasn't flagged anything but we'll check it out. Thanks for the heads up.

I guess I've heard sillier things, usually from Shootaway. Ear Protection. That's where you need to be going.

I agree. it does sound silly, but I guess only until one cracks or breaks one of those front teeth while shooting.

I usually go through a short, quick checklist when I shoot my 460 Weatherby: teeth tightly clenched, good cheek weld, support hand vs front sling stud etc. Then the middle finger of my right hand gets pounded...

Obviously I'm out playing and not hunting.

Similar to my 500 Jeffery. When I'm shooting it every two weeks, I just bring it up offhand and shoot it like my 270. When I haven't shot it in awhile I need a bit of mental prep, practice hold, stock meld, dry fire a few times, then all is good.

Chuck
