I know a guy who has 2 M70s in .458. Both of these rifles were made in the early 1970's and are identical. They are safari grade rifles and do not have the claw extractor. They are are in good condition, but have been used quite a bit. He is asking $1200 for the pair. Is this a resonable price or too high for these rifles? Any help would be appreciated.

Two rifles for $1200? Go ahead and buy them. Sell one, shoot the other, or you can always re-barrel one or both of them to something like .358 Norma Mag. or .338 Win. Mag. George

I would buy them. I had one of that vintage that I bought in the early 80's. Of the 7 different 458's I have owned, that was the most accurate one of the bunch.
