I do not remember the name of the company, but they produce a semi auto rifle that shoots stuff up to and beyond a 458 Winmag. Anybody recall the website?

I've never heard of such a company; John Wooters had a Browning BAR customized to fire the .416 Taylor, but that was a one-off rifle.

Where did you hear of this company?

I doubt if this is the one you are looking for but it is interesting anyway.

It was in this forum a while back. The platform was of a custom machined AR15 resemblance, and I believe the caliber list went from 338 Lapua to 450 Rigby/Dakota. anything over that was a different design. I had the website saved on my AOL login, but I got rid of the program, and did not save my favorites before I did it.

The closest I can think of is the offerings at Teppo Jutsu with the .458 SOCOM, .500 Phantom, and .338 Spectre. But I think all of these are shorter than the cartridges you are talking about. MartyTW is the member here you would want to contact.

This was the company that made the rifles. Seems they have changed their ways, concentrating on the 50 cal and everything from the 338 Lapua down. One of their models was a belt feed. I did a search and found the thread in the big bores forum under ".416 Rigby semi auto" and it came up. Too bad, a 450 Rigby would be a helluva piggie buster in semi auto! Who knows, maybe they would do a one off rifle for ya if you ask.

Not sure I would want a folding stock .338 Lapua, but to each his own. Cool

I think for a neat pig buster the SOCOM and the like would be more than enough, but since when has that ever stopped anyone. roflmao

I remember reading something about that. They were BAR style rifles in all sorts of full power big bores.

I just can't remember where I read it.

Cool

gixxer,

Regards to Tampa, my hometown!

There is a German company that is importing a 9.3x64 made up on a Russian Drugenov action, the guy says he's selling them as fast as he can get 'em into his shop.

I've got a brochure floating around my filing system somewhere (that means I have to fish through about ten stacks of papaer!) Let me know if you are interested?

Cheers,

I think I read somewhere that Jack Lott had a BAR that was a .458 Lott, but I'm not sure about the caliber, although I am sure it was a big cartridge that was Cape Buff/Elephant capable. I read it in Boddington's 'Safari Rifles,' now that I think about it, I'm sure someone could find it if they picked up their copy.

.458 win mag was the one mentioned in the book. That would be pretty simple, as it already comes in 338 win. mag. Action is too short for anything longer than the standard 458

Search for "470 Rhino". Marty (Teppo Jutsu) is working on a series for larger rounds for the AR-10 platform.
