Anyone used Harris Bipods on a 375 H&H?

Nope. I've never used a bipod on anything bigger than a .300Wby.

Have used one on a 500 A-Square.
It is the tall one that when fully extended allows use in a sitting position. I would not want to use it in the prone position.

I think a .375 H&H could be used in the prone position with a short bipod, just never had the need. Gentle enough.

I had the need for the sitting bipod on the 500A2 for 942-yard target shooting in the cow pasture. Worked O.K. I hit paper with a 5-mil holdover, when the wind was calm.

I,ve shot me 416,s and 458,s from prone .. Don,t want to do it every day , but it works fine .......... A bipod ...., it,s not overly sporting , but it would provide a rest ... .....................

It would be ugly as sin tho ... I just can,t see pinning a set of legs on a rifle that must be able to swing and point for fast 10 yard shots .............. But if you had a Ruger 375 Alaskan with the Houge target stock , why not .................

I have a harris Bipod on my SAKO 375 and at the range I have placed several hundred rounds in the sitting and prone positions and it works well and gets you off of the bench.

In ZA I used the bipod as most of the shots were longish in open country 250 plus and from the open area of the eastern cape it worked well from Prone and sitting positions and it provided more stability than sticks in that local.

When I hunted Buff in Zim last year the Bipods came off the cover was thick the shots were close and at the end of the day 2 lbs of weight make a lot of difference after you have walked for 6 hours.

I think they help in some areas and are a hinderance others but if they make you shot better and more often giving you confidence in your firearm and chosen round it can not be a bad thing. Good luck

I've used one on my 270 for years eventually got away from it. Question, does your 375 H&H shoot to the same point of aim with the bipod and without it? That would be a concern for me if it didn't.

Though not a big bore I do shoot my 338-378 from a bipod every now and then. Yes I've tried it without the Accubrake and it is spirited to say the least. It hammers you with about 55 lbs of recoil compared to the 40 - 45 lbs for a 375 H&H. No wonder my shoulder is shot .
