Ok guys, I tried to stay away from this whole drama Axel vs. rest of the board but I can't resist it anymore. I knew he was a liar the moment I saw this picture. I had seen this picture somewhere on the internet but I couldn't remember where. I went through my favorite links and wahla. The picture is taken from Gatewood rifles webpage and the stock is done by Claude. It is infact a CZ chambered in .500 AHR. Go see "Axel's" rifle by clicking on this link.

I've got that song running through my head. "Tell me lies, tell me cheap little lies." Explain this away Axel. I'm not a gunsmith and I could tell that the action was not a Model 70 on the "Axel Special."

Is this Axel guy a loser or WHAT! Not only is this guy posting pics of guns that aren't his, but it is an ugly ass gun too! What kind of low grade POS shit stock is that? Is it just me, or is that stock just too damned PLAIN for a CUSTOM rifle? What the heck kinda wood is it, anyway? It doesn't look like walnut. Actually, it kinda looks like cherry.

Axel leave, you are a LOSER, LOSER, LOSER, LOSER, LOSER, ETC, ETC, ETC! If you are from Germany GO HOME!

Excellent detective work, BB! I am glad you exposed this asshole for what he is. Guys like this stink up the whole forum. I have learned alot here. I hope to someday pass on a little knowledge to repay all the lessons I have learned. Then guys like Axel show up spewing out crap and ruin it for the novice like me. I cannot always tell when these assholes are lying. It helps me figure it out though when you knowledgeable guys expose these pricks!

Again thanks,
Casey

The stock looks nice to me and maybe some folks like a piece of wood that has some figure to it but not exhibition grade. I've got several shot guns with AAA wood but it's my straight grained BSS that goes into the rough stuff. I'm sure Mr. Gatehouse has a good reason for why that wood went on that particular gun. It may be that it looks real nice up close and personal, also. Just my 1.2 cents.

It does not matter whether the stock is nice or not. The big question is that does it belong to Axel? I talked to the stock maker who made that stock a while back he told me that the stock was made for a guy in Michigan but he did not tell me his name. I also know the stock was cracked in the grip area and was repaired. Since Axel is from Michigan so it just might as well be his rifle or his friend's rifle. I think he was playing game with the group. Have fun guys.

Mingo,
When you spoke to the stockmaker did you ask him what that stock was made of? It looks kinda like cherry! Did the stockmaker tell you how/why it cracked? Cherry is very strong wood. I can't believe anyone would stock a big bore smokeless rifle with it. I have an old muzzleloader with a cherry stock, but that is a horse of a different color.

I don't think this is Axel's gun! I visited the website and it clearly states this is a 500 AHR or a 500 AHE. Depending upon which picture of the gun your looking at. Axel keeps saying this is a 450 Ackley. If it was his gun you would think he would know what caliber it is, wouldn't ya?

If Axel owned a rifle it would probably have a stock made of steel and the barrel and action would be made of wood, balsa wood so as to keep the weight down [Smile]

Mike375,
I agree with you. Axel will now probably come and explain to us "ignorant" people how correct your last post is! Of course he will have plenty of scientific looking formulas to impress us with!

AXEL said - I apologize for the poor picture quality. I used a neighbors camera and it is cheap.

I see it this way, if its your, you lied about the camera, if its not you lied about..... ooohhh I get it, your a fucking liar... Makes perfect sense now.

Casey,

I talked to the stock maker a good eight or nine months ago when I was looking for a custom walnut stock for my first 460 Weatherby CZ 550. I found this outfit in the Cleveland area and his pricing was very reasonable but he could not guarantee me the strength of the stock with a big bore rifle so I never did buy a stock from him. We had a lengthy discussion about the custom stock he did on his web site but I don't remember for sure what kind of wood that stock was made of. He did mention that it was his first big bore rifle stock and he did not relief the tang area enough so it cracked. If you are serious enough to know then you can give him a call to find out for sure.

I am pretty sure that Axel would know the difference between a 450 Ackley and a 500 AHR as well as the difference between a Model 70 and a CZ 550. I think he was just playing game just to stir the pot a little bit.

Have fun.

You guys are overlooking the obvious...Axel really IS Claude Gatewood. Hahahaha [Big Grin]

Actually this is about the most disgusting stunt I've ever seen on AR. Any member who would deliberately fabricate such a bullshit lie as Axel has tried to perpetrate on everyone here is REALLY A SCUMBALL.

All I've got to say to Axel is F.O.A.D. [Mad]

Buffalo Buster - I forgot to congratulate you on a great piece of detective work. My common sense told me this was exactly what the stupid little troll was doing but I was too lazy to track it down.

Thanks for doing the homework for us. [Smile]
