Does anyone know if the Leupold FX II Ultralight 2.5 x 20mm will fit on the CZ 550 Magnum action? The rifle has a 14" LOP if that helps.

Can't see why this scope would not fit. What cartridge are you thinking of or have. For a big bore DG you could go for the Leupold 2x20 EER handgun scope and mount it in the "scout" position. I have this set up on my Mauser .404J and it has the advantage in exposing most of the action area for quick and easy reloading of large cartridges into the magazine.

I think It will hold any scope. On my big bore I have a 13/4 X 5 X 30 Burris.

Hello,
Recently bought the scope you mention and did so after speaking w/ some who had them on DG rifles and they all agreed that it was an excellent choice. Mtd. on RSM-458Lott, no problem, and then mtd. on std. length action Ruger, RSI/'06 for this fall deer/bear season. Was concerned that the construction would not hold up, but so far so good and others have told me that it is the preferred scope for them over the variable models-plain and simple and works. Bought mine from Allen Glore on this site, good service and fair pricing.

Depends on the caliber. For a .375, I'd go with a variable like a 2.5-8 or something like that.

It will fit, but the front ring will be over the objective lense if that bothers you. I have one on a 500 A Square and have had no issues after several hundred rounds.

Yes, I like it, it can be done.
If you push the scope as far forward as you can in the rear ring (which locks on the recoil tab),
and back the front ring as much rearward as possible (yet fully engaged in the dovetail):

The objective lens (and/or its housing ring) may be subject to compression by the front ring.

Hazard from this is overcome by not torquing the front ring screws too much ...
and using RTV SILICONE ADHESIVE between the scope and rings!!!

Like this 2.5X Leupold on a CZ 550 Magnum in 500 Mbogo.
The same scope and rings setup also serves interchangeably on a ".510/460 Weatherby Improved JAB" BRNO ZKK 602.
It has been subjected to severe and prolonged recoil testing.
Best possible setup for a hard kicker.
Toby Keith may love his bar, but I love this scope:

I really hate the idea of the front lend being within the ring.

I don't know why Leupold makes some scopes so short.

If I was to use one of those scopes I think I would have the cross slot base that has a couple of slots in it. Extension bases look terrible.

Yes. It will fit and function with no problems.

I use the very same scope on my .500, which was built by AHR on a CZ 550 Magnum action.

I agree! Why are most brands of scopes much shorter than they use to be???? I own a S & W Model "B" in .308 but the action is .30-06 length, so I had to buy a Weaver front extension (reversed it) so it would allow me to mount my 3-9 power Leupold Var-X1 scope. I have an older 3-9 power widefield Redfield scope on my Ruger M-77 MKII in .270 and it is longer than the Leupold scope. So no problem mounting it.

Guys, let's don't forget that this scope is designed to be an "ultralight" and compact scope. That's why it's short.

Still, it fits very well on a magnum length action and is very strongly built, so in my view it's a good design.

Some people have had problems with straight tubed scopes when they put the front ring over the front lens.

I think Zeiss makes a straight tube scope with a long tube for magnum length actions. It is a variable however.

I did, with a Leupold 1.5-5. Cracked the objective. Hadda go to offset rings, but they work great on QD mounts on a Mod.70 Safari Express.
