in texas 10ga is the limit for migratory fowl.. not deer or other game.

I'm kinda with Tiger on this one. The logistics of setting something like this up are mind boggling! That is, of course, assuming he really did it.

Here in Georgia, since they've legalized crossbows during archery season, allow any centerfire rifle during gun season, and let any yahoo with a shotgun of 20-ga. or bigger use buckshot, it's clear the DNR no longer cares about "clean and humane" kills. Might as well use a cannon.

My biggest ethical problem would be the danger posed to others. Thre is no way I could ever pull that lanyard unless I knew for certain that the chance of one of my stray balls hitting another hunter was zero. That means I would be restricted to hunting on cannon ranges with shear-cut berms on three sides.

This whole thing gives me new respect for the guys on both sides who, during the Civil War, marched shoulder-to-shoulder towards lines of dozens of such weapons. No wonder a half-million men died in that war!

But that was ok, I guess, they weren't deer. We all know that shooting a deer with such a weapon is inhumane.
