A little off subject, but here are some "after" pictures of a .375 H&H Lux that Roger worked magic upon.

Jim:

Keep me posted on what you develop, please. Right now I'm just going to use Hornady loads. Roger sighted in my Lott with them and he said the 500 grain solids were accurate at about 2285 f.p.s. I also have some 450 Barnes X solids that John LaSala loaded at www.safariarms.com I'll let you know what they do.

I have a CZ 550 Lott, which I plan to use on Cape Buffalo.

What OAL on the 458 Lott are you using?

What type of bullets, manufacturer, wt, style, etc. (both softs and solids) seem to work best, accuracy, terminal performace, and just plain kills? What type of powder are you using?...I was thinking about H4895 but you suggestions would help!! I also plan on using Federal 215 Match Primers.

I do have some 450 grain Barnes Triple Shocks I am going to try out when the gun returns from Roger Ferrell.

JudgeG was kind enough to put me in contact with Roger and from seeing the work Roger has done for others, I feel like I am in good hands.

Any other helpful hints on reloading the 458 Lott, etc...are appreciated...Thanks in advance, JJS

Judge, that CZ 375 H&H Roger did for you looks better every time I see it. I hope to get a 375 CZ soon.

I did go ahead and load up some stuff for the Lott...with the 450 grain Barnes TSX, so I will have some ready to go when the gun returns from Roger. I measured a few of the Hornady loads, and loaded to that OAL, then loaded sets with a longer OAL, and with increasing charges of H4895.

I think I am going to order some Swift A-Frames, maybe Woodleighs, or let me know what else we should try.

I shot the CZ 458 win mag today, I got off the range an hour ago. I just got a Leupold 2.5x with Talley rings mounted the other day. I was shooting Winchester 510 grain factory soft points. I will give you all the excuses first..The vision in my sighting eye is 20/50...I have recently been having some corrective Laser stuff done..and I hope it returns to 20/20! and I am not use to shooting Heavy Duplex..takes up alot of the target which I am not use to ...Anyway to the results...Shot at 50 yards 6 shots just one big whole. Moved the target to 100 yds, first shot from a clean barrel, next two shot from fouled barrel, and the fourth shot from a clean barrel...my barrel breakin routine. The total group measured, center to center, right at 1". The two shots from a fouled barrel were basically in the same whole (I would call it a 1/4" two shot group). The first and fourth shots only, taken together were 1/2". I was very pleased to say the least, with the CZ accuracy. I cannot wait to develop some handloads for this gun.

I hope the Lott shoots as well!
