at the gun show in Greenwich CT. Unfortunately the stock was badly damaged...It had gold engravings on it of a bear and an elephant...cannot find it on their website....can anyone help me find it?? Any opinions on this lever action rifle?
Hello, Since you noticed that it is a lever gun, then it would be the Model 1886 Winchester rendition by Browning or perhaps a single shot Browning 1885. Not aware of the game animals pictured as you mentioned, but those would be the two possible choices I believe in that caliber. In either case, for what they were/are, outstanding designs. The big lever action repeater was about as strong as it got in a lever gun and if it were the rifle version, then you had some 9-10 shots of quite powerful rounds to send down range in short order.

He's right , single shot -1885 Browning, repeater 1886 . Both are great. I have the 1885 and love it .Is the engraving factory or after market ? If the price is reasonable get it and get a new stock.
I have one for sale, but it is on hold for two weeks...It is the 1886 HIGH Grade Carbine with 22" barrel and is Gorgeous and Unfired in Box...If interested, email me and you can have it if the other buyer falls through...Daqridude@aol.com
